Charlie Cheng, VP Operations Wavefront welcomes new Vice President of Operations

Wavefront, the commercialization centre accelerating the growth of British Columbia's wireless and new media cluster, is pleased to announce Charlie Cheng as the newest member of its executive team. Cheng joins Wavefront as Vice President, Operations and will be responsible for overseeing Wavefront's technology roadmap and building excellence within the operations team.

"Charlie brings a great deal of knowledge and a strong background in the wireless industry and I'm excited to welcome him to the Wavefront team," said James Maynard, president of Wavefront. "With his successful track record driving the development of enterprise networking and next-generation wireless services and products, Cheng will be a tremendous asset to our team and the community we serve."

Prior to joining Wavefront, Cheng held various executive and mission-critical engineering positions in the wireless industry, working with companies across North America. His previous experience ranges from start-up companies to large wireless organizations such as T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless and AT&T Wireless in the United States.

Cheng kick started his career with Nortel Networks in Ottawa.

Cheng has a Bachelor's degree from the University of Toronto, M.B.A. from the University of Texas and M.Sc. degree from Southern Methodist University in Texas.
