FRONT-END WEB DEVELOPER / DESIGNER

We are looking for an experienced designer with an equal love for front end web development. We want a creative strategist with a love for all things mobile.  This is a full time, one-year term contract role reporting to the Director of Marketing. This role is responsible for the look and feel of the Wavefront brand. He or she will also be responsible for the redesign of the Wavefront website and collateral, the launch of our blogs, template design for email newsletters, and design support for all Wavefront events.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for conceptualization and design of graphic applications such as collateral material, corporate identity, advertising, and communications pieces from concept to completion.
  • Responsible for the redesign, build and maintenance of the Wavefront website. Determine and develop the look and feel for the site, architecture, site navigation design and visual execution. This includes working with APIs to integrate with other systems such as Salesforce.
  • Design and build the templates for key online communications tools including blogs and email newsletters.
  • Work with the rest of the marketing team on concept and content creation.

Job Requirements

  • University degree or college diploma in business or computer programming
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a design or development role
  • Exceptional knowledge of the mobile and/or wireless sector
  • Strong project management, problem-solving, & analytical thinking skills
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Advanced of frontend markup including CSS, HTML, and JavaScript
  • Experience building or customizing CMS systems such as WordPress or Drupal
  • Expertise with Adobe Creative Suite
  • Experience with PHP would be an asset
  • Experience developing cross-platform capable websites for mobile devices is preferred


COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER

Based in Vancouver BC, we are re-shaping the way Canadian companies as well as international ones; seek out opportunities, resources and information on doing business in the wireless sector, in Canada.

As Communications Manager, reporting to the Director of Marketing, you will be charged with the design and execution of the company’s integrated communications strategy. We're looking for an energetic, hard-working self-starter with 5-7 years' experience, preferably in the corporate and technology sectors. Agency experience and/or entrepreneurial experience are assets, but not mandatory.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute communications strategies
  • Develop, maintain and continually refresh the corporate communications plan, with responsibility for both external and internal communications
  • Generate content such as whitepapers, case studies, press releases, brochures, newsletters, blog posts and other required written material
  • Develop and manage relationships with the media - proactively generate media pitches, press releases and story ideas
  • Management & maintenance of the company website and other event and promotional websites, as required by either the marketing or communications plans
  • Regularly update and develop content for social media sites
  • Copywrite, edit and proofread all communications and marketing materials
  • Responsible to source, manage and work with graphic designers and others to generate marketing and communications materials

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, teamwork, presentation and project management skills
  • Salesforce, WordPress, Adobe CS suite experience preferred
